Girls' Develop Enthusiasm

Girls are inspired and develop skills in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Through hands-on activities, girls come to view STEM careers as exciting and realistic option for themselves.

Media Literacy

 ·       Helps girls to analyze what they see and hear in the media and advocate for change in entertainment, news, and advertising. As girls create media that are more realistic and reflective of their lives, they learn about careers and positive use of media.

Our Programs

Girls Inc. of Alameda County provides year-round academic achievement and skills-building programs, as well as counseling services to over 7,500 girls and families. No other Bay Area youth agency offers such comprehensive programming designed specifically for the unique needs of girls.

Leadership and Community Actions

·         Participants build leadership skills and create lasting social change through community action projects. With support from women in their community, girls celebrate the heritage of girls and women as leaders and social change agents and realize their own power as community resources and trustees of the common good.

Economic literacy

Participants learn about money and the economy, including how to manage, invest, save and how to help others through philanthropy

Executive Director’s Note - 4/2/13

When you educate a girl, she will share it with the world.
